About
International Relations major aims to foster professional intellects to recognize and analyze the essence of international politics and lead Korea in the rapidly changing world order. The current international politics field goes beyond the traditional international relations research and strives to understand globalization-regionalization, overlapping of tradition and modern, and other issues through a historical acumen and theoretical application. As a result, the department focuses on cultivating individuals based not only on traditional international political field, but also the general social sciences field that fosters an insight into the relationship among individuals, society, nations, and international system to scientifically examine international political economy, diplomacy, culture, and other various fields. Today, we are deeply affected by ‘international political life’ and, as a result, cannot lead an active life in the rapidly changing world order without a thorough understanding of its meaning. Thus, this department’s graduate program aims to meet this need and cultivate outstanding individuals who can take on the role of guides in society through various careers like professional researchers, national elites, media, or international businessmen, among others.
Composition
Graduate school offers two programs: Master’s and Doctorate. The admission quota for Master’s program is 18, while for Doctorate program is 3. There is no combined Master’s and Doctorate program.
