International Relations Major graduates move onto play central roles in various fields, contributing their extraordinary ability to developing the different sectors of society. Generally, the graduates enter fields like the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Academia, Media, Politics, Law, Business, and Finance.
Most of the graduates remain in academia and continue their research studies in prestigious universities and research institutions. The fact that over 16% of our graduates enters the academic field is an individual and national response to the international political life not only by cultivating professional personnel, but by helping Korea figure out its path in the rapidly changing reality of International Politics.
Not only academia, our graduates also move on to contribute their knowledge, time, and effort in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and other governmental agencies. Especially, numerous graduates enter the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and many enrolled students hope to follow their footsteps. As a result, over 15% (according to 2002 statistics) of foreign service officers in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are graduates of International Relations Major. Those entering the Media field is also relatively high at 8.5%. Also, our graduates who are equipped with a broad international perspective and knowledge increasingly play crucial roles in various businesses as they adapt to the globalizing world. Our graduates also actively participate in Law and social organizations.
Thus, International Relations Major play significant roles in a variety of fields after graduation, and this trend will continue, allowing more individuals cultivated by International Relations Major to expand their roles and responsibilities in society through their superior ability and knowledge.
