For a Master’s program, a total of 24 credits should be completed, and the GPA should be above 3.0. There are no special rules regarding required Major courses. (※ Following the Seoul National University academic rules, only 12 credits from the total 24 credits are allowed to be completed at a different graduate college within SNU. However, for courses from other colleges to be recognized as credits to the Major, they should follow the internal rules of Department of Political Science and International Relations, and they should consult the Department Dean or advising professor regarding the courses they wish to take.)

Graduate Thesis Research can be taken from the third semester onwards (Up to 6 credits for Master’s students, and 6-12 credits for Doctorate students), evaluated through a practical S/U evaluation. In each semester, graduate thesis research can count up to 3 credits.

To complete undergraduate courses as a graduate student, the student needs the approval of the Department Dean and only 6 credits total are approved in this regard. Credits from military studies, language studies, Korean language studies are not recognized.
